The neighbourhood of culture and culinary delights: Oud-Zuid and its museum quarter. You don't have to be a local in Amsterdam to know that Amsterdam Oud Zuid offers plenty of fantastic hotspots.

Bar Bonnie is that kind of place you can drop by at any hour of the day. Be it for a little breakfast on the terrace, setting up your laptop after lunch, or enjoying an afternoon drink with a tasty snack. Amstelveenseweg 226h, 1075 XT Amsterdam

If you're in search of quality coffee with a touch of dreamy aesthetics, take a 12-minute stroll to Coffee District. This all-time favourite never, and I mean never, disappoints. A splendid, luminous establishment with cosy seating and delightful pastries. Creamy foam on top, and a warm, robust, yet refined coffee. Oh and, are you staying a little longer here and a little obsessed with specialty coffee?  They also offer amazing private barista courses. So, what are you waiting for? Head to this lovely spot. Olympiaplein 111, 1077 CV Amsterdam

Not walked enough yet and wanting to be surrounded by some green scenery? Take your coffee to-go and extend your wander to Vondelpark. Often referred to as Amsterdam's version of New York's Central Park, this beloved park is the city's most famous. With its expansive 120-acre size, long rectangular shape, and its central role in local life, it's easy to understand why. Within the park, you'll discover a large lake, several fantastic playgrounds, an open-air theatre, and a couple of delightful spots for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat.

Two spots we love at The July include the Groot Melkhuis, especially wonderful for children with its sandpit and playground outside. Another gem is 't Blauwe Theehuis, the iconic modernist cafe. And for the little chef in your life, make sure not to miss the children's favourite, the Kinderkookcafe located on the park outskirts. Vondelpark 6B, 1071 AA Amsterdam

Nestled at the corner of Koninginneweg and Willemsparkweg, you'll discover the restaurant Visque. A true treasure for seafood enthusiasts and pescatarians among us. Easy living with a touch of cosy French charm at Visque, spanning across two floors. Upstairs, an intimate restaurant, downstairs, an oyster bar with open walls and a menu featuring cocktails. Upstairs is perfect for a romantic evening with your partner, while downstairs is ideal for spending time with friends. Both spaces exude that delightful je ne sais quoi, something you either have or you don't. And Visque has it—the vibe. It's an evening out, as we mentioned, and the chef coming to your table to explain what's in store for you certainly adds to the experience, as does the rest of the small, dedicated team with a genuine passion. Willemsparkweg 220hs, 1071 HX Amsterdam

Of course, who doesn’t love going out for dinners, but there are times when all you crave is an intimate meal at home. So, for our home chefs, we've got you covered! On Saturday morning, make your way to zuiderMRKT, a cosy local market organized by enthusiastic residents from the Oud-Zuid neighbourhood. Find all that your belly is craving from an array of cheeses to made-to-order crêpes and fresh fruits and vegetables. Jacob Obrechtstraat, Johannes Verhulststraat, 1071 MR Amsterdam
