In the words of Kermit the frog: it’s not easy being green. While true, it’s easier when you work with the best people…

Partners The July - Boat & Co
Teams win
Our team’s beautiful girls and guys are at the heart of The July - Boat & Co. Whatever their role or responsibility, they’re aligned and focused on always improving. Our entire employee journey is built on helping one another grow, because when we look after each other it’s easier to look after our guests.
Being Good Neighbours
We actively work with the community around The July - Boat & Co, supporting local initiatives, products and practices. All guests are given information on the surrounding area’s history, culture and natural environment so they can fully connect with its stories. We are also a living room for our local community - offering a place where neighbours can work, work out, relax, eat, drink and gather.
Make Better Things & Make Things Better
At The July - Boat & Co we choose our partners and suppliers carefully. Very carefully.
Blycolin: meet our linen supplier who cleans our linen locally and carries the Oeko-tex quality mark (which guarantees that no environmentally harmful substances were used in the production of textiles). In addition, ingenious washing processes ensure low water consumption and less CO2 emissions.
Marie Stella Maris: you won’t find any single-use plastic products in our bathrooms, only great care products from Marie Stella Maris. For every product you buy, this Amsterdam-based brand donates a fixed percentage of its turnover to sustainable water projects.
Nicolette Brunklaus: in our rooms we collaborated with Dutch and Amsterdam-based artist Nicolette Brunklaus to create a series of twelve tapestries inspired by the robust surroundings of the Houthaven. All of them are signed as a limited collection and custom-made for us.
Print shop 'De Bij’: when we really need to print something we go to De Bij. They only use organic ink and recycled paper, plus they generate energy using solar panels and their own windmill. Fun fact: our menus are made from tomatoes!
The Good Roll: all our toilets have sustainable toilet paper. The sheets are made from European recycled paper - without chlorine, dyes or fragrances. In addition, The Good Roll donates 50% of its net profit to the construction of toilets in Africa.
Buurthotel: At The July Boat & Co, we are proud to be part of the Buurthotel initiative, strengthening our connection with the local community. Through exclusive neighbourhood benefits, local events, and welcoming shared spaces, we invite our neighbours to make the hotel their own. Whether it's enjoying a coffee or dinner at Brasserie Vessel, joining community activities, using our workspaces, or taking advantage of special offers, Buurthotel helps us create a place where locals and guests can come together and feel at home.
Droppie: Droppie is an innovative Dutch recycling concept that makes it easy and rewarding to recycle everyday waste. By bringing in items such as plastic packaging, textiles, electronics, and deposit bottles and cans, people can earn rewards through the Droppie app. With its convenient collection points and focus on the circular economy, Droppie encourages communities to reduce waste and give valuable materials a second life.
Made Blue: Made Blue Foundation (Vessel) – For every bottle of water sold at Vessel, we donate €1 to Made Blue, supporting clean drinking water projects. In just nine months, we’ve contributed over €10,000! Guests can choose which project to support via a QR code on the bottle.
