Small Actions, Shared Impact

This Earth Day, we're highlighting key drivers of how sustainability meets everyday operations across our hotels.

Our Green Operations Team is a volunteer group of colleagues across our properties. Once a month, they share ideas, review operations, and explore practical ways we can reduce environmental impact.

The team recently visited our waste partner B-Next to learn more about how hotel waste is processed and how we can improve waste separation and recycling in hotels.

In their own words:

"By separating better and working smarter, a lot of what we throw away can be reused or turned into new materials.

What we learnt:

• Better separation = less residual waste

• Less waste = lower costs

• Smarter processes = lower CO₂ impact

B-Next uses data and smart recycling processes to turn waste data and give us real insight into how we can improve. This is not just about being sustainable, it also helps us work more efficiently.

Our next steps: improve further how we separate and manage waste in our daily operations and in our rooms."

These outings offer a closer look at what happens behind the scenes, turning abstract goals into real understanding. Seeing the systems we rely on, asking better questions, and finding smarter ways to operate.

At The July, we believe that progress is built collectively. It comes from conversations shared between colleagues, ideas tested in real environments, and a shared commitment to doing things better over time.

This Earth Day, we are proud of the steps we are taking, and even more excited about the work still ahead.
